Ways Individuals Can Help The
American Red Cross
As an individual you
can:
- Attend or sponsor a Red Cross special event.
- Become a volunteer. Learn about Red Cross services and find
something that interests you.
- Use Goodsearch.com and Goodshop.com - each click provides support for the Red
Cross!
- Ask your employer to match you financial gift or make a
donation in recognition of your volunteer work.
- Sell items on eBay to raise money to donate to the Red Cross.
- Make a commitment to donate blood four times a year at a Red
Cross bloodmobile.
- Learn what to do in an emergency by taking a Red Cross first aid and CPR class.
- Make sure that the children in your family learn how to swim
in a Red Cross water safety program.
- Make sure the people who take care of your children have
received Rec Cross first aid and safety training.
- Enroll your 11-16 year old in the Red Cross Babysitter's Training course.
- Learn how to prevent and treat injuries in a Red Cross Sport
Safety Training course - great for tee ball coaches and soccer moms!
- Carry a Red Cross first aid kit in your car and learn how to
use it. Order online at the Red Cross
Store.
- Give a first aid kit or CPR class as a gift - we have gift
certificates!
- Hold a garage/rummage sale with proceeds going to the Red
Cross.
- Talk with yor family about safety at home; practice an
evacuation plan. We have free family emergency preparedness materials.
- Volunteer to teach others about health and safety by becoming
a Red Cross instructor.
- Make a contribution to the Red Cross in lieu of flowers
for a funeral, or in honor of a special occasion.
- Ask your service club or church to make a donation to the Red
Cross.
