Armed Forces Emergency Services
War is tough on families. Military life has enough challenges without worrying about how your loved
ones will contact you, especially during times of conflict.
As a member
of the United States Armed Forces, you can count on the American Red Cross to
help you wherever you're stationed, home or abroad. In the case of emergency, we
can help your loved ones back home get messages to you -- or from you. We can
also help you with counseling and other needed assistance. In fact, we
support thousands of military families each year.
For additional information about how the American Red Cross
serves our military and their families, and how to get assistance, we
invite you to visit "Serve Military Families" located on the
American Red Cross website.
For more information or to learn how you can help, contact Robin
Barclay, Director of Volunteer Services, at
330-535-2476 or barclayr@usa.redcross.org.
The Red Cross and the U.S. military today. Today's
American Red Cross is keeping pace with the changing military. Using the latest
in computer and telecommunications technology, the Red Cross allows families to
send messages to military family members stationed all over the world during an
emergency or other important events. These communications are delivered
around-the-clock, seven days a week, 365 days a year.
Red Cross Armed Forces Emergency Services personnel serve in nearly 1,000
chapters in the United States, on 109 military installations around the world
and alongside our troops whenever they are deployed.
