 The American Red Cross of
Summit and Portage Counties invites all motorcycle enthusiasts in the
Northeast Ohio area to get together on Sunday, September
13
for its 7th Annual RIDE FOR THE RED.
Participants
can join the 40-mile ride through the beautiful Cuyahoga Valley (Map
)or simply rally at Akron’s Lock 3 afterward for a
fun-filled afternoon of good food and good music. Proceeds from the
Ride for the Red event will benefit local Red Cross
services.
This year’s Ride for the Red will begin at
Liberty
Harley-Davidson in
Boston Heights (Map
) with event registration at 11:00 a.m. The ride kicks off at
1:00 p.m. for a rambling tour through the picturesque back roads of the
Cuyahoga Valley. Riders can also get an earlier start by joining rallies
that originate at several satellite
start locations
beginning at 11:00 am. These satellite rallies will
link up at Liberty Harley-Davidson at Noon for a grand ride by all
participants at 1:00 pm.

Costs &
Registration Pre-registration
is now closed. Please register on the day of the event at Liberty
Harley-Davidson or one of the satellite
start locations. Same-day registration costs are $25 for riders and
$20 for passengers.
Non-riders can also enjoy
the festivities and food at Lock 3 with a $10 admission
fee.
Entertainment The musical entertainment at Lock 3 will be provided by
Dark Side of the Moon, a Pink
Floyd
tribute band.
Give Blood The Red Cross Bloodmobile
will be on-site at Lock 3 from 1:00 until 5:00 pm to receive blood
donations. With blood inventories at lower-than-normal levels in Northeast
Ohio, the Red Cross has set a goal of 20 units for the event and will
actively encourage attendees to
donate.
